December has arrived and Ho-Ho-Holy Cow what a year 2020 has been! As tradition would have it, this time of year always fills up everyone's calendars with events like Holiday concerts, ice skating, shopping, decorating, office parties, family gatherings and much more. We know things are different this year. So, Fine Nest is passing along The Holiday Cheer electronically to all our Fine Nest mailing list members!

As the year comes to a close, we encourage everyone to take additional steps in passing along The Holiday Cheer whenever and wherever they can. Send a Holiday greeting card to someone you haven't seen in a while. Use social media to boost the holiday spirit. Let your community know you care by donating to charities dedicated to helping COVID-19 relief. By taking these small steps, we can help uplift each other and bring in the 2021 year on a positive note.

December Market Metrics Report

As we've said many times, the Fall/Winter Real Estate Market is still holding out unseasonably strong. Most likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, year over year, the housing metrics show only positive results for all of Northern Virginia's major counties.
This month's takeaway from December's market analysis, is that we are still, very much, in a Sellers Market. Fine Nest's Listings are still getting offers in 2-6 days. However, many buyers are no longer going to settlement having waved many of the usual contingencies home buyers typically complete before closing. Which goes to show, that despite the demand being high, buyers are shopping smarter and not as competitively.
Fine Nest still encourages home owners looking to sell their homes to take advantage of this competitive market, and get the best value on their homes. Buyers are still encouraged to take advantage of the low interest rates.

Federal Coronavirus Releif Package - Rental Assistance News

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is trying to inch closer to an agreement on a federal coronavirus relief package. The bill would extend the eviction protection set to expire at the end of the year until January 31. It also provides $25 billion in rental assistance to states, local governments and Native American tribes.
